This part of the KSMA wiki is dedicated to those funny stories that pop up in the Library Media Centers. Sometimes no one but a librarian can appreciate the humor... so here is a place to store that humor for those days when you'd really like to strangle someone with the cord of the laser scanner. Stop by to share or to LOL. OF COURSE WE WON"T USE POEPLE"S NAMES OR IDENTIFYING CHARACTERISTICS!!! That would be mean and unprofessional.~ Nancy P.
1. One of the earliest things I remember wanting to laugh out loud about here at the High School was when the Internet was brand new and some poor senior (who was a bad speller) was looking up "cereal killers". He kept finding stuff about a rock band with that name. He was frustrated and wanted my help. How could I tactfully tell him he was way off base? I hid my smile and just suggested he try this "alternate spelling" -Serial Killers.

Nancy,
I think you are onto something here. I have collected LOL stories for the KSMA Newsletter so when I find where I have stored them...geez...I will share some of them on this page.

I remember only a year or so ago a young lady coming into the library and with all the sincerity she could muster telling me that she wanted to thank us for being her librarians. It had been a trying day, so I was very appreciative and told her so. She said "Well, I know we can come in here just whenever we want, but YOU have to come every day!"
I didn't quite know what to do with that.

I just got a letter in my faculty mailbox that I thought had just been placed there by mistake, but then I think I figured out why it was there...it was addressed to the BOOKKEEPER of Model Lab School, and afterall, I am the "keeper of the books"! :-)

My favorite has to be about 10 years ago. It was my first year as a librarian and we had moved to a new school. I was outside of our school of 450 students doing bus duty when one of them got of off the bus and asked me, " Ms. Carman, did I turn in that one library book?" I told him I had a good memory, but not that good. Please stop by the library after breakfast and check on it. I was new, just learning the kids' names, and was outside, they think we know everything...
